Bianco dell'Empolese DOC
A Trebbiano-based white from the flat, industrial Arno valley west of Florence, one of the most obscure DOCs in Tuscany. The dry white is light, neutral and lemony with low aromatics and a soft finish; the more interesting product is the Vin Santo, amber and nutty with dried apricot and caramel, which is what the few producers who use the name (Cantine Leonardo da Vinci, Piazzano, Montellori) actually bottle.
