RedLead grape in 1
Malvasia di Casorzo
A red Malvasia from a small zone in the Monferrato hills of Piedmont, made into a sweet, lightly sparkling red with a rose and strawberry perfume and low alcohol. It is a local wine in the fullest sense, drunk at the end of a meal in the villages that make it.
Worth knowing
Red skinned aromatic grapes are rare, and Piedmont has three of them in a small area: this, Malvasia di Schierano and Brachetto. All three make the same kind of sweet frothy red, and all three are drunk almost entirely within the region.
