Red
Raboso Veronese
Also called Raboso.
A Veneto red, distinct from Raboso Piave despite the name, grown in the same eastern part of the region. It gives slightly softer tannin and less brutal acid than the Piave version, which is a relative statement rather than a gentle wine.
Worth knowing
Despite the name it has no particular connection to Verona. The two Rabosos are different vines that grow in the same zone and appear in the same appellation rules, and the Piave one is the older and more characterful of the pair.
