Just now coming into its own, the 2022 Borgo Bonelli La Caccia from Toscana is a Super Tuscan blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Cabernet Franc, 25% Sangiovese, 4% Merlot, and 1% Petit Verdot. A glowing medium ruby-purple core gives way to a light red rim, with dark cherry, black currant, dried hibiscus, green peppercorn, and melted dark chocolate over dusty wild herbs. The palate is plush and beautifully balanced, with velvety tannins and exquisite acidity framing the full body. Secondary notes of tobacco leaf and cedar add depth through the finish.
