L'Alberello 2023

Forest notes and fresh mint lead the aromatics of the 2023 Grattamacco L’Alberello from Bolgheri, a single-vineyard red that co-ferments 70% Cabernet Sauvignon with 30% Cabernet Franc. Eighteen months in barrique and tonneau, 40% of it new French oak, have given it polish without masking the site. A shimmering medium ruby-blue core frames a light red rim, while blackberry and blue plum emerge beneath the pine and spearmint. On the palate, blackcurrant, blueberry, and star anise ride integrated tannins and moderate-plus acidity through a medium-plus to full body.
