The 2024 Ornellaia Poggio alle Gazze from Bolgheri is a vividly aromatic white blending 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Vermentino, 3% Sémillon, and 2% Viognier, raised across 20% new French oak, 20% used French oak, amphora, glass globes, and concrete eggs. It shows a pale, glowing lemon core with a luminous rim. Green Anjou pear, gooseberry, bitter almond, and a hint of honeysuckle rise from the glass, with the Sauvignon Blanc supplying freshness and the Vermentino a rounded texture. The palate is generous and easy to love, closing on a crisp, flinty mineral finish.
