Fornace 2020

Lilac and iris open the 2020 Selvapiana Fornace from Toscana, a Merlot-driven blend at 70% rounded out with Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. A glowing ruby-purple core, medium to dark in depth, gives way to a neon red rim, and candied black cherry, walnut shells, dried thyme, and cocoa powder follow the floral opening. Rich and lush, the full body pairs grippy tannins with moderate-plus acidity. It will show its best from 2028.
