Dolcetto d'Acqui DOC
Dolcetto from the spa town of Acqui, historically a little softer and rounder than the Alba versions because of warmer, lower hills. Deep purple, blackberry and black plum, a whiff of violets and bitter almond, low acid and a dusting of grippy tannin on the finish. Made to drink young with pasta and salumi. Most of it is consumed locally and it lives in the shadow of the same zone's Brachetto.
