Dolcetto di Diano d'Alba (Diano d'Alba) DOCG
A single-commune Dolcetto DOCG with its own system of named vineyards (sorì), the first in Piedmont to map them in the 1980s. The sandy-marl hills give a lighter, more floral Dolcetto than Dogliani: red plum, violet, blackberry, soft tannin, a bitter cherry-pit finish, best in its first three years. Small estates dominate, and only a few reach America.
