White
Biancame
A white of the Marche and northern Romagna, grown near the coast around the Metauro and in the Rimini hills. It gives a light, dry, citrus and almond wine with moderate acid, made for drinking young with Adriatic fish.
Worth knowing
It is the same vine as Bianchello, which is what the Metauro valley calls it, and the two names sit on either side of a fairly arbitrary line. It has also been confused with Greco and with Trebbiano Toscano in the older records.
