White
Fenile
A white of the Amalfi coast, grown on cliff terraces around Furore on pergolas above the sea. It is one of the rare local grapes in the Costa d'Amalfi rules, and it goes with Ginestra and Ripoli into a small number of barrel fermented whites with apricot, candied citrus and honey.
Worth knowing
It is best known through a single wine, Marisa Cuomo's Fiorduva, which blends it with the other rare Furore whites. When a grape's reputation rests on one cellar's bottle, that producer is effectively keeping the variety alive.
