White
Glera Lunga
A Veneto white permitted alongside Glera in the Conegliano Valdobbiadene rules, with longer bunches, as the name says, and a similar neutral, high acid character. There is very little of it planted and it is never bottled on its own.
Worth knowing
It is a separate variety from Glera, which the shared name disguises. DNA work showed that Glera Lunga, Glera and Malvasia Bianca Lunga, once all treated as forms of Prosecco, are three independent varieties, and it points to Glera Lunga being a natural cross between Vulpea and an unknown parent.
