Red
Incrocio Terzi
A crossing of Barbera and Cabernet Franc grown in the Brescia and Bergamo hills, giving a deeply coloured red with firm acid from the Barbera side and a leafy, structured character from the Cabernet. It is a minority component in Cellatica and the Colleoni wines.
Worth knowing
It is named Incrocio Terzi number 1 after Riccardo Terzi, who bred it in Lombardy in the early twentieth century. Italy made a number of these crossings in that period and this is one of the few still in commercial use.
