Moscato Giallo
Also called Fior d'Arancio.
A yellow berried Muscat grown in Alto Adige, where it is Goldmuskateller, and in the Colli Euganei south of Padua, where it becomes Fior d'Arancio. It gives an intense orange blossom and sage perfume, made dry, sweet, sparkling and passito depending on where you are standing.
Worth knowing
Fior d'Arancio means orange flower, and the name describes the aroma rather than any orange in the wine. The Colli Euganei are old volcanic hills rising straight out of the Veneto plain, which is why the grape behaves differently there than it does in the Alps.
