White
Nosiola
Trentino's native white, giving a dry wine with pear, almond and a light body, pleasant rather than profound. Its serious expression is Vino Santo Trentino, made from grapes dried on racks until spring and fermented very slowly.
Worth knowing
The name is from nocciola, hazelnut, for the colour of the ripe berries and the note in the wine. Trentino's Vino Santo is dried longer than Tuscan Vin Santo, sometimes into Holy Week, which is where the name comes from.
