Red
Pollera Nera
A red of the Colli di Luni, on the hills around the mouth of the Magra where Liguria meets Tuscany. It is a minor local partner to Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo in light, herbal reds that stay mostly at home while the zone's Vermentino gets the attention.
Worth knowing
It is one of the last native reds of the eastern Ligurian coast. The Colli di Luni is known for white wine, and the reds survive as a local habit rather than as anything the appellation sells itself on.
