Riesling

Also called Renano, Riesling Renano.

Riesling Renano in Italian, grown in Alto Adige, in the Oltrepò Pavese and in small pockets of the northeast. On cold high sites it does what it does everywhere: high acid, lime and stone fruit, a mineral cut and the capacity to age for decades.

Worth knowing

Italy grows very little of it and the best comes from sites most other varieties would find too cold. In the Oltrepò it is often blended with or confused against Riesling Italico, which is a different grape entirely.
