Trebbiano Abruzzese

The true Trebbiano of Abruzzo, and a completely different proposition from Trebbiano Toscano. It gives a white with weight, a waxy texture, firm acid and a long saline finish, capable of aging for decades in the right hands.

Worth knowing

Much of what is planted and sold as Trebbiano d'Abruzzo is actually Bombino Bianco, so the great bottles from this variety are the exception rather than the rule. Working out which vine is in which old vineyard row remains an open question in the region.
