Bianco 2023

The 2023 Ornellaia Bianco from Bolgheri is a 100% Sauvignon Blanc drawn from a selection of the estate’s finest blocks, grown on cool, deep limestone soils with about 20% clay. It shows a glowing medium lemon core of real brightness and a pale, watery rim. Minerality and salinity mark it from the first sniff, with lemon zest, white chalk, white peach, gooseberry, and lemon balm rising from the glass. Aging in French oak for 30% of the wine adds subtle texture and a faint brioche note that lends secondary nuance. The palate is round and concentrated, with notable density and a slight tannic grip that gives shape to its weight.
