Elegance defines the 2023 Poggio di Sotto Rosso di Montalcino, a Sangiovese that pours a glowing medium ruby core with a bright, light red rim. Bing cherry and pomegranate open the nose, joined by red peony, preserved lemon zest, and a twist of red licorice. The medium-bodied palate is lifted by high acidity and framed by moderate tannins, with a faint thread of crushed fennel seed adding savory detail. It drinks easily now yet has the structure to age for a decade or more, and it will be at its best from 2027.
