A warm growing season gave the 2021 San Lorenzo Brunello di Montalcino real generosity, and this Sangiovese wears it with remarkable balance. A glowing medium ruby-brick core gives way to a pale red rim, and the nose is fragrant with dark cherry, black raspberry, dried marjoram, and a dusting of nutmeg. Grippy tannins frame the full-bodied palate, where lovely acidity keeps the riper fruit buoyant and adds a savory note of cured olive. Give it a few more years in bottle to fully integrate.
