WhiteLead grape in 1
Bianchello
A white of the Metauro valley in the northern Marche, giving a light, dry, citrus and almond wine with moderate acid, meant to be drunk young with the fish of the Adriatic coast. It is the same vine as Biancame, which is what it is called elsewhere in the region.
Worth knowing
The Metauro valley is where the Romans destroyed Hasdrubal's army in 207 BC, which is the fact every label and every producer reaches for, in the absence of anything dramatic to say about the wine.
