Impigno

The lead white of Ostuni, the hill town in Puglia, blended with Francavilla in Ostuni Bianco. The wine is light, dry and lemony with a bitter almond finish, made in small quantities between the Valle d'Itria and the Adriatic, and drunk almost entirely within the province.

Worth knowing

Its name is a family name: the vine is said to have been brought to the Ostuni countryside from the Martina Franca area in the early twentieth century by a farmer called Impigno. It makes up between 50 and 85 percent of Ostuni Bianco.
