Ostuni DOC
No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.
A small DOC around the white hill town of Ostuni with two rare specialties: a white from the local Impigno and Francavilla grapes, and a pale red from Ottavianello, which is the Cinsault of southern France under a local name. The bianco is light, dry and lemony with a bitter almond finish; the Ottavianello is light ruby with strawberry, red cherry, pepper and soft tannin, more like a chilled Provençal red than a Puglian one. Output is tiny and rarely leaves the province.
