Lambrusco Marani

Also called Marani.

A Lambrusco of the Reggio Emilia plain, high in acid and deeply coloured, giving a firm, sharp frizzante red. It is a reliable cropper and is usually blended with the other Lambruscos rather than bottled on its own.

Worth knowing

The Lambruscos are typically blended with each other rather than with anything else, each bringing one thing: Sorbara the perfume, Grasparossa the tannin, Salamino the body, Marani the acid and the colour.
