Nero Buono
Also called Nero Buono di Cori.
A Lazio red grown around Cori, south of Rome, giving a medium bodied wine with dark cherry, a herbal note and moderate tannin. It is blended with Montepulciano and Cesanese in the local reds and occasionally bottled on its own.
Worth knowing
It is often written Nero Buono di Cori, tying it to a single town, and it is grown almost nowhere else. Lazio is full of varieties like this, kept alive by one appellation and a handful of growers.
