Castelli Romani DOC
No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.
The umbrella DOC for the whole Castelli Romani, created so that the hills could bottle simple reds and rosatos alongside the older white only DOCs. The whites taste like generic Frascati: pear, white flowers, low acid, bitter almond. The reds are light, soft blends of Cesanese, Merlot and Montepulciano, sour cherry and pepper, made for trattorias. Useful as a cheap Roman table wine, rarely more.
