Rotta Segreta

Rotta Segreta, Italian for "secret route," is the wine project of my friend Claudia Callegari. Claudia holds the WSET Diploma and lives in Piombino on the Tuscan coast, where she runs a Tuscan wine club and leads private tastings and winery tours.
Her first wine is Alfresco, a Sangiovese grown high on the slopes of Monte Amiata and made with a consultant winemaker. It spent about 18 months in French oak and more time in bottle before release. The 2022 is the first vintage, and only 1,300 bottles were made. There's no cellar door, so the wine is sold through Claudia's club and shop.
