Lazio / Colli Etruschi Viterbesi (Tuscia) DOC

Bottle photo: Trebotti
Nearly two decades in bottle have done wonders for the 2007 Trebotti Incanthus Grechetto from Lazio. A glowing medium gold core fades to a pale yellow rim, and the nose is fragrant with brown mushroom, dried sage, powdered ginger, dry caramel, and rich earthy tones. Lemon confit and dried stone fruit fill the palate. It is a lovely partner for an Umbrian pasta such as strangozzi with black truffle, and it should hold for another 10 years.
