Albugnano DOC

IL PROGETTODOCALBUGNANOAAIT12328444Denominazione di Origine Controllata

No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.

The highest Nebbiolo vineyards in Monferrato, on limestone and sandy marl near the abbey of Vezzolano. The wine is lighter and brighter than Langhe Nebbiolo: raspberry, sour cherry, rose petal and a peppery herbal note, with moderate tannin and fresh acid, ready in three to six years. A grower association (Albugnano 549) has pushed quality recently and Gambero Rosso now lists the best. Production is tiny and stays mostly in Piedmont.

Still hunting

Can you help me get one?
