Morellino di Scansano DOCG
Sangiovese from the warm, breezy hills of the southern Maremma near the coast, softer and sunnier than inland Chianti. Expect ripe black cherry, plum, wild fennel, and a hint of sea salt, with rounder tannin and moderate acid that make it drinkable young. The annata is a serious pizza wine; riservas from Le Pupille or Roccapesta add oak, depth and a few years of life.
