Lambrusco Maestri
Also called Maestri.
A Lambrusco of the Parma plain, deeply coloured and full for the family, with dark fruit and firm structure under the fizz. It travels into blends across Emilia and Lombardy and turns up in Puglia as a colour grape.
Worth knowing
It is named after Villa Maestri, the estate near Parma where it was selected. Of all the Lambruscos it is the one most often grown outside its home region, precisely because it gives colour and body to other people's wine.
