Barletta DOC

IL PROGETTODOCBARLETTAAAIT60449052Denominazione di Origine Controllata

No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.

Originally Rosso Barletta, a Nero di Troia based red from the coastal plain around Barletta, later broadened to include whites and rosato. The rosso is medium to full, with black cherry, plum, tar and a pepper note, less structured than the Castel del Monte versions from the hills but generous and food friendly. Almost all Nero di Troia from the area is sold as Puglia IGT, so DOC bottlings are rare even in Italy.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Barletta, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
