Capalbio DOC

IL PROGETTODOCCAPALBIOAAIT95916656Denominazione di Origine Controllata

No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.

A catch-all DOC for the far southern Maremma around the walled town of Capalbio, better known for its beaches and the Tarot Garden than its wine. Reds are Sangiovese-based or varietal Cabernet, ripe and sunny with plum, blackberry, dried herbs and soft tannin; whites are Vermentino or Trebbiano, simple and saline. Most local estates bottle under Maremma Toscana DOC instead, so this name is rare even in Italy.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Capalbio, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
