Valdichiana Toscana DOC

Historically the Bianco Vergine Valdichiana, a light Trebbiano-based white from the flat farmland famous for Chianina beef, made without skin contact (hence 'vergine'). Expect lemon, green apple, a bitter-almond finish, low alcohol and brisk acidity: a simple, cheap, food-friendly white. The 2011 rewrite added reds, rosé and sparkling, but the whites still dominate what little is bottled. It's a pleasant footnote rather than a destination.

Still hunting

I'm still looking for a bottle of this.

If you make Valdichiana Toscana, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
