Vignanello DOC
No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.
A hill DOC in the volcanic Cimini range between Viterbo and the Tiber, notable mainly for allowing a varietal Greco (really Grechetto) white and for Ciliegiolo in the reds. The Greco is crisp with green apple, chamomile and a bitter almond edge; the Rosso is a light, cherry scented Sangiovese and Ciliegiolo blend. Production under the DOC is tiny and the local cooperative accounts for most of it.
