Albarola
A Ligurian white grown in the Cinque Terre and the Colli di Luni, blended with Bosco and Vermentino. It brings acid and a light, citrus and herbal character to wines that would otherwise be broader and softer.
Worth knowing
It is one of the three grapes of Sciacchetrà, the dried sweet wine of the Cinque Terre, and like everything else grown there it is worked entirely by hand on terraces that can only be reached on foot or by monorail.
