Colli di Faenza DOC
A small DOC created for Bordeaux-style blends and varietal Sangiovese in the hills behind Faenza, where most serious producers actually label their Sangiovese as Romagna DOC instead. The Rosso must be at least 40 percent Cabernet Sauvignon and shows blackcurrant, bay leaf, plum and moderate tannin, in a slightly rustic frame. Production is tiny and mostly consumed locally.
