Corti Benedettine del Padovano DOC
Named for the medieval Benedictine farms (corti) that drained this stretch of the Padua lowlands, and one of the least known DOCs in Italy. The land is flat and fertile, so the wines are straightforward: soft Merlot and Cabernet reds with plum and herb, neutral Chardonnay and Tai whites, and a Raboso passito that's the only thing with real local character. Cantina di Conselve, the cooperative, produces most of it. You'll only meet it by driving there.
