Locorotondo DOC

IL PROGETTODOCLOCOROTONDOAAIT01968695Denominazione di Origine Controllata

No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.

The best known white of the trulli country, from vineyards at 400 meters among the cone roofed houses of the Valle d'Itria. Verdeca and Bianco d'Alessano give a pale, light bodied, bone dry wine with green apple, pear, lemon zest, white flowers and a faint bitter almond finish, with fresh acidity and 11 to 12.5% alcohol. It was long a cooperative commodity, but I Pastini and Cardone now make versions with real texture and the sparkling version is a nice surprise.

Still hunting
