Val di Cornia DOC

The coastal valley south of Bolgheri where Tua Rita, Petra and a cluster of small estates make Bordeaux-variety and Sangiovese reds. Since 2011 the serious reds carry the Suvereto or Val di Cornia Rosso DOCGs, leaving this DOC for whites, rosato and passito. The Vermentino and Ansonica whites are ripe, saline and herbal; the Aleatico passito is a rose-scented sweet red. Most famous names here (Tua Rita, Petra) use Toscana IGT, so the DOC bottles come from mid-sized family estates.

Still hunting

If you make Val di Cornia, import it, or know who does, the form takes two minutes and I reply to every one.

Can you help me get one?
