IL PROGETTODOCCOLLI DI SCANDIANO E DI CANOSSAAAIT72703076Denominazione di Origine Controllata

No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.

The hill zone of Reggio Emilia, notable for Spergola, a native white once confused with Sauvignon Blanc, and for Malbo Gentile, a dark, tannic red usually made frizzante and sometimes sweet. Spergola is lean and lemony with green herb, white flowers and a chalky snap, best as frizzante or metodo classico. Lambrusco Grasparossa from these hills is darker and more tannic than the Reggiano plain versions. Casali Viticultori is the estate that keeps the DOC alive.
