Scavigna DOC
No strip issued. I'm still hunting a bottle.
A one-estate DOC just south of Savuto that Odoardi essentially created for its top wines. The rules allow international grapes alongside Gaglioppo and Magliocco, so Vigna Garrone drinks like a modern, oak-aged southern red: blackberry, cassis, mocha, dried herbs and ripe, polished tannin at 14 to 15% alcohol. The Polpicello is a purer Magliocco showing plum, violet and pepper. Taste it for the Magliocco and for the fact that you'll rarely get another chance.
